edcom is the European Institute for Commercial Communications Education. With 55 academic members from across 20 countries, it represents a network which gathers academics, students and other university stakeholders with an interest in commercial communications. Its aim is to establish a cooperation between academia and industry professionals, as well as facilitating cross-border education and exchanges.

edcom meetings

October meetings, October 2018

Members attended the two-day meetings in Brussels. In addition to the edcom meetings, they had the opportunity to attend the Euro Effie case study forum and the prestigious Euro Effie Awards Gala. During the meetings, the exclusive edcom Talent Roundtable in partnership with Kantar took place. The discussion was followed up by the creation of the White Paper, available to all edcom members.

Online meeting, February 2019

The online meeting presented an opportunity for members to receive an update on the projects and initiatives organised by edcom.

Beyond that, it focused on Jan Binar’s term as edcom president and the 2019 elections.

May meetings, May 2019

The bi-annual edcom meeting took place in Paris, France. During the AGM, the members elected the new edcom president Paul Springer and the Board.

They had a chance to meet the new association manager Sibylle Stanciu and enjoyed a series of presentations of our members.

On the second day of the meetings, the Ad Venture final took place, followed by two panel sessions discussing talent and  recruitment with speakers featuring edcom members and human resources representatives from agencies including Havas Paris, DDB and Publicis.
